New New Venue Announcement

Hello GreenDrinksters!

Our hosts at Meiying's Chinese are renovating their restaurant this summer, so we have a new venue:

Breezes Caribbean Cuisine (www.breezesgrill.com). Located at 387 Main Street, it's a little part of the Caribbean right here in Metuchen!

We'll see you there in August and beyond!

What we are

Every month people who have an interest in the environmental field meet up at informal sessions known as Green Drinks.

We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. Come along and you'll be made welcome. Just say, "are you green?" and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organising network.

These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity.

Details

WHO: Anyone working on environmental issues, studying them, or looking for technical support in living and working greener.

WHY: Fun, contacts, alcohol (or not), info, gossip, inspiration, business and pleasure.

NEW: Just go up to someone and say "are you green?", and you'll be made welcome.

STATUS: Informal, self-organising network. First Tuesday every month since June 2010. Average Attendance about a dozen with room for many more.**BYOB:** You're welcome to bring your favorite wine or beer to share. Homebrew is encouraged **(BYOH)!**

WHAT: We gather and talk about eco-issues from a logical, non-partisan perspective. Topics can vary based on who is attending, sometimes we have a moderated discussion format and sometimes we have more of a bull session, we strive to let everyone participate in the discussion.

HOW: Walk, cycle, bus, or [NJ Transit](http://www.njtransit.com) (Northeast Corridor, Metuchen Stop): Downtown Metuchen, NJ. Taxi or car OK if more than 2 passengers ;)
